Measurements of Temperature at the Solar Oven

The temperature profiles were taken on July 12, 1997 at the solar oven of OSOW 5, FH O/O/W, Emden, Germany.

The total efficiency was measured 57.5 %, the optical efficiency 73.3 %. The temperature was taken from an array of thermo couples positioned with the positive x-axis to the west, and with the positive y-axis to the south. One can see a very small size of the focal spot corresponding to the size of the smallest optical element of the main reflector, which is one glas facet (180mm x 90mm) of OSOW 5.
