Solar Community Kitchen |

On the September 24 , 1998, we had a nice sunny day in Emden, in the North of Germany (53o North).
We used our Solar Community Kitchen OSOW5 to cook a splendid and tasty meal. Mr, Wesselly of the Studentenwerk Oldenburg, the cook of our student dining hall, used the energy of the sun to prepare roast meat (20 minutes in a large pan on the solar oven) with Tsatsiki and side salad. The new solar reflector cooker OSOW5 has been in operation at the University of Applied Sciences (FH O/O/W) in Emden since April 1997. The reflektor consists of 428 glass facets. The overall efficiency amounts to 53%. Temperatures at the pot or plate can be up to 450oC, depending on solar radiation.
