Solar Reflector Cooker (SRC) - Family Size |
|
The reflector frame is driven by a large spring, when in western position, and driven by its own whight when in eastern position. Because of this automatic whight compensation the motor requires only low current supplied by an accumulator, charged by a small solar cell. The steps are produced by a photo transistor, which switches the current of the solar cell to the motor through a relais, when the shaddow from a small wall covers the transistor. This sensor device is simple and requires no other electronic circuit. In Nepal another solar sensor and driving device is beeing used, which would not be possible for heavy reflector constructions due to glass facets of 3 mm thickness. |
